Group Classes – Speaking and Singing
Learn to love your voice – Beginners

In a safe environment you’ll learn the fundamental tools that you can use to build and strengthen your healthy voice. You’ll learn how to relax and breathe deeply so you can develop a strong voice. As you release tension you’ll diminish shyness and increase volume and confidence.

We utilize yoga and simple stretching in all warm-ups.  We work on pitch, tone, resonance, volume and emphasis so your speaking and singing voice grows to express your unique individuality. Using detailed specific exercises you will unlock tension in your jaw, tongue, face, throat, abdominal area, lower back and spine. You will learn how to use your voice without pushing or straining. Classes include group singing making these sessions fun and creative.

Skype Sessions – Speakers and Singers

Whether you are a seasoned professional or a beginner, a speaker or a singer, Skype sessions can be a productive format for you to develop your voice. We will focus on your specific needs utilizing exercises that release tension blocks in each part of the vocal musculature and relieve constricting postural habits. Breathing exercises will build and strengthen your voice and increase vocal spontaneity. Working with a piano we’ll vocalize using exercises that build your vocal power, expand your range, deepen the resonance and fullness of your voice and release your emotional life on a free voice without pushing and straining.

Using detailed specific exercises you will unlock pockets of tension in your jaw, tongue, face, throat, abdominal area, lower back and spine.

In Skype sessions we are able to focus deeply on specific issues that each speaker/singer has and correct at an individual pace. This may include speeches, talks or songs.

Private Lessons  –  Speakers only
Non-performers

Using detailed specific exercises we will unlock tension in your jaw, tongue, face, throat, abdominal area, lower back and spine. We will build confidence and reduce shyness. Working with a piano we vocalize using specific exercises that build your vocal power, expand your range, deepen the resonance and fullness of your voice and release your emotional life on a free voice without pushing and straining. We also work on physicality so you know, for example, what to do with your hands. We will examine how your body tells the story you want to tell.

Actors – Private or Skype
Build your voice & reduce tension, text work

Whether you are a seasoned professional who has had voice for actors or a beginner, private sessions are a good place to start. We utilize exercises that release tension blocks in each part of the vocal musculature and relieve constricting postural habits. Breathing exercises build and strengthen the voice and increase vocal spontaneity. Exercises connect the actor’s inner life, imagination and experiences to combine with their physicality expanding vocal and physical expression deepening the actor’s instrument.

Working with a piano, we vocalize using specific exercises that build your vocal power, expand your range, deepen the resonance and fullness of your voice and release your emotional life on a free voice without pushing and straining. Using detailed specific exercises you will unlock pockets of tension in your jaw, tongue, face, throat, abdominal area, lower back and spine.

In private sessions, we are able to focus deeply on specific issues and work on text from plays and monologues. Audition monologues are welcome. Sometimes actors benefit from group classes to build and strengthen their instrument and sharpen improvisation skills.

Singers – Private or Skype Sessions
Acting a song & building your voice

Whether you are in a show, auditioning, or have never had a private voice class the emphasis of these classes are two-fold: first to utilize exercises that release tension blocks and relieve constricting postural habits. The breath is key to building and strengthening the voice. We also focus on specific exercises that build your vocal power, expand your range, deepen the resonance and fullness of your voice and release your emotional life on a free voice without pushing and straining. Using detailed specific exercises you will unlock pockets of tension in your jaw, tongue, face, throat, abdominal area, lower back and spine.

Secondly, will work on acting for singers. The same techniques that actors use should be employed by singers. Some of the tools we focus on are; who you are singing to, why, where, what are the endowing circumstances of the world of a song.

In private sessions we are able to focus deeply on specific issues and work on specific songs. Sometimes singers benefit from group classes to build and strengthen their instrument.
